Dr. Romesh Sood did his M.B.B.S. from Government Medical College, Amritsar in 1968 followed by a D.O.

M.S. from the same institute in 1971. He joined Rajan Eye Hospital and served there till 1977 when he left service to complete his M.D. in ophthalmology from Government Medical College, Patiala in 1979. Since then he has been working as Medical Superintendent and Chief Eye Surgeon of Rajan Eye Institute and recently been appointed as Secretary of the charitable trust running the hospital. During this period he has held and organized more than 1000 eye surgery camps in the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. He has also been a trainer for House surgeons at the institute. Today more than 50 % of the members of Jalandhar Ophthalmological Society have cut their teeth in Ophthalmology under his worthy guidance.
